History

The inception of the SPIDER Security Guard Management System traces back to the year 2000. The primary aim was to elevate operational standards, ensuring efficient guard duty roster management and accurate payroll processing to eliminate waste and overpayment, subsequently enhancing the Billage Ratio.

In the Security Guarding industry, guards were required to be deployed not just to a single location or state, but across the entirety of Malaysia. This necessitated each branch to independently update the Duty Roster, which would then be consolidated at the Head Office prior to payroll processing.

During that era, IT resources were notably scarce and posed significant challenges, especially in terms of data transmission over the nascent Internet landscape. Consequently, SPIDER was conceived and implemented within a resource-efficient environment, considering hardware capabilities and cost constraints. This marked the emergence of SPIDER in its DOS form.
